Proposal Engineer

Department Description

• This position is directly responsible for all aspects of a plant project proposal.  It is responsible to complete proposals on schedule and within budget.  It requires effective interaction with customers as well as with the Cement Division Sales managers.

Brief Description

• The position interacts with most of the company departments to either receive or provide information and support.  The contacts of this position are internally and externally at almost all levels.  The incumbent is technically sound proposals in accordance to FLS standards.  The incumbent is responsible to identify and resolve any design issues that may put FLS at a disadvantage during the bidding process.

Detailed Description

• Completion of proposal on schedule and within budgeted engineering costs.
• Manage and coordinate engineering involved to different entities of the FLS group with creating proposal documentation and cost estimates for the project.
• Create and maintain proposal standard documentation and keep the department engineer is abreast of the intent of this documentation.
• Assure the technical accuracy, quality, and cost estimates of the project proposals.
• Assure co-operative interfacing with Sales and support of Sale’s efforts.
• Develop and maintain current in house sizing and pricing tools such as type selection.
• Assure continuous focus on the development of the FLS- US proposal group in India.
• Enhance and maintain the department tools and documentations that support the proposal generating activities.
• Comply with the Company’s Quality Policy.  Ensure that quality concerns relative to matters within the department and relative to documents and services coming from outside the department are identified, documented and resolved in timely manner.  Participate in the improvement of procedures and work instructions when required.

Job Requirements

• 2-4 years’ experience
• B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent amount of experience. (preferably in Mechanical Engineering)
• This position requires an engineering degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering), plus a broad background in various fields of engineering, good presentation and interpersonal communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of FLS products and the processes to which they are applied.
• Frequent international travel is required.
