Lead Cost Engineer

Based in Perth, WA there is currently an opportunity to work with this large global EPCM where you will have the responsibility of providing accurate commercial advice to the Project Management on all cost matters for the project.  As the Lead Cost Engineer in the Project Controls Team you will also provide guidance and support to the more junior members on an ongoing basis.
 
Duties will include (but will not be limited to):

•  Taking part in costing reviews.
• Analysing all information to be able to highlight any problem areas and to be able to explain all data presented.
• Develop tools to monitor labour costs.
• Identifying ways to improve and streamline work processes.
• Helping and mentoring junior members of the team so they are proficient on the systems and work processes involved. 

 
This role is vital to the development of this large project and will assist with all current construction activity as well as forecasting for future phases of construction.


Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• 3 yrs+ previous EPCM or Client Team experience preferably in the mining or minerals processing sector.
• 8 yrs+ experience within cost engineer or cost control roles
• A successful track record of accurately recording, analyzing, interpreting and forecasting cost data for large projects. 
• Relevant tertiary qualifications will also be viewed favorably
