Senior Electrical Designer

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for generating layout drawings within the Minerals and Metals industry using AutoCAD.
  • Working on a variety of project, to deliver design drawings and final construction/detail drawings, for engineering projects.
  • Ensuring drawing packages are delivered within the project time schedule.
  • Apply recognized electrical engineering design/drafting principles, accuracy and overall quality.
  • Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
  • Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member.
 
Requirements:
  • The successful applicant shall have, as a minimum, tertiary qualifications in Electrical Drafting or Design.
  • The person should have demonstrated experience using AutoCAD.
  • A minimum of 5-15 years of experience with multi-disciplined drafting; working in the various facets of industrial, mining, chemical/minerals processing or other heavy engineering industries.
  • A thorough knowledge of appropriate codes and standards.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience as a user of the 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting system applicable to electrical equipment.
  • A committed team player able to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
  • Flexible and versatile.
 
Reporting and Location:
  • The position reports to the Manager, Sudbury.
  • Opportunity exists in Sudbury, Ontario.
