Dispatcher, Asphalt Plant

Aggregate Industries , a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening at its asphalt plant in Bladensburg, Maryland for a Dispatcher. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to receive, process and schedule orders and to facilitate communication between the plant, field and Drivers with accuracy and timeliness. The position will also provide support to plants in Clinton, Waldorf and Severn, Maryland.

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinates the sales order delivery process.
• Manages incoming and external customer phone calls, exercising judgment within standard practices.
• Addresses customer issues and ensures effective problem resolution.
• Probes the customer for additional information including upcoming orders and cut off quantities.
• Informs customers of warnings concerning product hazards, load limits, vehicle weights and limitations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of related customer service, or dispatch experience.
• Excellent oral (telephone) communication skills
• Ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to multitask
• Strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, and experience using dispatch and trucking software preferred
