Divisional Manager (Maintenance - Mechanical)

A South African company involved in mining, energy, and chemicals, is looking for a Divisional Manager (Maintenance - Mechanical) (Witbank).

Minimum Requirements

• BEng Mechanical or equivalent and a Government Certificate of Competence - Factories (GCC)
• 10 - 12 years’ experience in Mechanical maintenance in the petro-chemical industry
• 6 - 8 years operations management experience

Requirements/Skills/Knowledge:

• MBA/MBL or B.Compreferable
• Knowledge of machines, equipment, materials and operating practices of the power stations and oxygen plant 

Responsibilities:

• Create and manage a safe and healthy environment
• GMR2.1 appointment
• Talent and diversity management of team members
• Function in a Hub & spoke organization with regard to Asset management and engineering
• Effective utilization of all resources
• Liaise with alliance partners
• Co-ordination of team activities
• Perform senior standby duties
• Liaise with production and support services
• Enhance continuous improvement and growth
• Creation of a motivational work environment
• Develop and maintain a mechanical maintenance strategy based on Asset Management principles
•  Implementation of the Company’s work procedures and initiatives as applicable
• Ensure plant Integrity, stability and safety on short, medium and long term
• Ensure short and long term plant availability to produce required quantities
• Sound mechanical engineering and maintenance application in petro chemical plant
• Technical and business evaluation of maintenance opportunities
• Manage the planning, governance and execution of shutdowns
• Create a culture that will enable world class performance through continuous growth and improvement
• Effective budget and cost control
