Our Client in the Burlington is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join them on a permanent basis in their existing team. This role is responsible for scheduling and monitoring the production schedules and will work closely with all Value Streams, Engineering, Production / Manufacturing teams, and supply chain to ensure customer orders are planned, entered and executed to customer expectations.
The successful candidate will have college diploma or university degree in business administration or equivalent discipline with 5+ years of experience in production/manufacturing in the manufacturing industry with experience in production scheduling and process management for front-end and back-end manufacturing. Must be proficient in MS Office and Excel.
Job Description
- Review customer requirements and generate the front-end and or back-end shipment schedule all material through the business such as Slit Steel, Winding, Forming, Annealing, Shipping.
- Use data from planning software to generate the front-end and back-end shipment schedules based on commitments to customers.
- Set up the front-end and back-end schedules to manage customers' requirements according to process flow, standard hours and resource (equipment/human) capabilities and constraints.
- Ensure that production schedule produces a steady production flow and provide assistance with throughput, batch size scheduling if appropriate. Schedule for a clean and safe environment for the cells (5 S and timely work order closure)
- Ensure that production on-time-delivery commitments are met.
- Work with supply chain to ensure materials arrive on time.
- Communicate shortages on current and future production schedules.
- Assist with communication between and across cells, across shifts and support functions.
- Review the MRP system with valid ship date.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure all new products are introduced into the planning and scheduling function properly and ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure that new products builds are executed to meet customer expectations for delivery
