Long Term Planning Manager

Our Client, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, operates a large-scale open pit and underground copper-cobalt project with substantial high-grade mineral reserves and integrated metallurgical operations in West Africa.

They now seek to appoint a Mine Projects and Long Term Planning Manager to lead the Mine Projects and LTP Department.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Directing and supervising the Mine Projects and Long Term Planning Department in a cost effective manner
  • Preparing sound mining projects and schedules for all current and future areas of operations 
  • Project, planning budgeting and financial skills
  • Providing a mentorship role to the national workforce
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineer
  • 10 years field experience
  • French language skills (advantageous)
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to lead and develop an effective team including local staff
  • Software competencies which include design and modelling software
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety requirements
