Scaffolding Operations Manager

Diversified Mining Services (DMS) is a leading provider of services to the Australian mining industry with extensive experience in the provision of services and equipment for the operation, maintenance and support of open cut and underground mining.


Due to an interstate transfer DMS is seeking to employ an experienced Scaffolding Operations Manager to oversee our Scaffolding Operations in NSW. Maintaining and developing professional customer relationships, mitigating potential risk and providing strong leadership this position will report directly to the General Manager and will be based in Mt Thorley.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Oversee the management of projects ensuring DMS personnel and associated sub-contractors comply with DMS policies and procedures as well as meeting and exceeding client expectations; 
• Provide leadership to the Scaffolding Division – clearly communicating targets and objectives and ensuring adequate tools and resources are available to ensure Divisional success;
• Ensure that projects are undertaken with the highest level of safety behaviours;
• Continually review the various market segments looking for new opportunities and conducting competitor analysis; 
• Preparing and analysing regular reports that summarise trends on throughput, costing against budget, breakdowns and quality standard;
• Overseeing the preventative maintenance requirements of fixed plant and mobile fleet and
• Other duties as specified by the General Manager – Scaffolding.

We look forward to hearing from candidates with the following skills and attributes:

• Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role – ideally within the Mining and or Construction industry;
• Demonstrated understanding of fleet management, planning, scheduling and rostering – ideally obtained within the Mining/Construction industries;
• Expert product and industry knowledge with relevant Scaffolding and Rigging Qualifications;
• Experience in Tube and Clip, Modular and Quick Stage Scaffolding techniques;
• Relevant OH&S Qualifications;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities;
• Strong commitment to providing a safe environment for employees and sub-contractors;
• Strong computer skills and
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and to lead and influence people.
