Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is one of Australia's most respected electronic companies and has been established for over 50 years. They manufacture a wide range of electronic and communication products for markets within Australia and overseas.

They now require the services of a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their existing team. This role will be reporting directly to the Design Manager.

You will be responsible for:
  • Mechanical Design including modeling using SolidWorks and detailed design and production of drawings.
  • Design and development of a variety of electro-mechanical products from initial concept through to final production.
  • Liaising with Company Industrial Designers to identify and solve design issues prior to production.
  • Liaising with the Manufacturing Department to identify and solve manufacturing issues prior to production.
You will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (Degree preferred).
  • At least 3 and ideally 5+ years in a similar environment (design & manufacturing of electro-mechanical products)
  • Experience in multiple manufacturing processes such as Injection Moulding / Pressure Die-casting / Silicon Moulding / Metal Stamping
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Evidence of having taken a project from initial concept through to final production.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong liaising experience with a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Secured onsite parking is provided as well as our client being located on a major bus route.
