Mining Engineer (Open Pit Planning)

An opportunity exists for a Mining Engineer to join the Medium Term Planning team for a global miner.  Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and designing work for the operations.

The Role:
  • Oversee the daily coordination of activities relating to mine planning within the 3 month to 5 year time timeframe
  • Assist in implementing systems to improve planning and compliance to plan
  • Mentor and coach mining engineers and graduate mining engineers
  • Review projects undertaken by other engineers.  
  • Assist with procedures for reconciliation and production
  • Identify and participating in business Improvement projects
 
The Person:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering,
  • Reasonable post graduate experience.
  • Initiative and practical problem-solving skills 
  • Exposure to Vulcan, Xpac software would be well regarded.
  • Ability to work within a small team
