This position is for a major Mining company

Minimum Requirements

  • University Degree / National Technical Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical engineering.
  • A Government Certificate of competency for Mines and works (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • Current registration or ability to register as a professional with ECSA or equivalent body
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant post-qualification Engineering experience in a shaft in a mining environment
  • Operational experience in a mining environment.
  • PC Literacy & working knowledge in Microsoft Office & Windows System

Job Specification

  • This position is available for a major Mining Company in Pretoria
  • Salary for this positions is up to R900 pa (this are negotiable up to R1.2)

Job Grade:

  • D-Upper

Job Description:

  • The successful incumbent will report to the Underground Engineering Manager looking after a rockshaft equipped with 2 Ward
  • Leonard double drum winders and a men and material shaft, equipped with a Koepe friction winder.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

In support of the above objectives, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the following outputs:

  • Ensure Legal compliance to the Mine Health and Safety act and Regulations.
  • Control cost effectively according to budgets.
  • Ensure engineering technical solutions effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance crews.
  • Develop and maintain the core capabilities of the maintenance teams.
  • Manage stakeholder roles and expectations.
  • Ensure personal and co-workers adherence and compliance to Security and the Company's SHE objectives
  • Required to work according to the mine Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done
