• This Engineering Company, one of the largest opencast mining contractors in Africa, offers a complete open-pit mining capability with over 40 years’ experience in both hard and soft rock environments. 
• In addition to its drill, blast, load and dump capabilities, this Company are well placed to provide mine planning, survey, production scheduling and grade control expertise.
• My client is looking for African, Indian and Coloured. Candidate must have mining background. This position involves lot of travelling to West Africa and Namibia.

Job Summary Statement:    

• Responsible for the efficient and effective co-ordination of the internal and external communication activities and channels of the Organisation.

Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities):

• Reporting to Managing Director
• Responsible for the development and implementation and measurement of the group’s communication strategy that integrates the group’s values and supports the business objectives
• Ensures effective management of all internal and external communication interventions and campaigns
• Provides input in the determination as well as ensures effective management of the Communications budget and functions
• Manage of OG Corporate Social Investment portfolio
• Layout and design of internal newsletter / publication.
• Proof reading and editing content produced by various departments and the group.
• Exhibition management.
• Event management.
• Maintain and update website content.
• Brand reputation management.
• Reporting on internal and external communications effectiveness

Academic Qualifications:

• A relevant Diploma / Degree in Communications

Experience:

• 5 years related experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Has excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to write clearly for organisation news, speeches, presentations etc
• Polished presentation and interpersonal skills required for representing the group in diverse environments
• Proven and demonstrable experience of working with a wide range of media and developing media strategies.
• Have a strong understanding of print and electronic processes
• Ability to manage a diverse range of communications vehicles and projects
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about communication and outreach strategies
