Tasks

• Directs and coordinates the financial control and reporting in a proper and timely manner for all [Company]  Extrude Hone (EH) North American locations in support of Extrude Hone and Corporate Management services to meet these needs, including decision support, performance measurement, planning, forecasting, accounting, reporting, internal control, cost control, and compliance with tax, legal, and corporate requirements.
• Identifies and understands corporate accounting needs and policies and develops products and services to meet those needs.
• Establishes, directs, and implements specific accounting policies, methods, practices, and systems to plan, measure, and control operations of [Company] NA and to assure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, annual budgets, management control objectives, tax, legal, and other governmental regulations as well as overall guidelines established by Kennametal Extrude Hone management and Corporate Management.
• Monitors, interprets and applies new development in US GAAP, manufacturing principles, financial planning principles, and tax regulations. Analyzes and evaluates [Company]  financial performance and forecasted results.
• Responsible for the global consolidated reporting of financial results for global [Company] to the corporate parent.   This position will address many of the interpretation of GAAP and [Company] reporting standards and policies to the non US [Company] entities.
• Identifies issues and opportunities and takes action or makes recommendations for improvement. Leads [Company] NA strategic, annual, and current planning/forecasting process.

Requirements

• A Bachelors degree in business, accounting or finance with a minimum of eight to ten years’ experience in global managerial accounting, including management responsibilities, is required. A CPA/MBA is strongly preferred. This position is responsible for all North American accounting activities and also has the KEH global consolidation functional reporting.  As such, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. This position requires proficiency in the use of personal computer applications and data retrieval techniques. This position requires good judgment capability, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously. The position also requires the ability to work independently, provide creative direction and technical oversight for projects, and deal effectively with confidential data. Constant work deadlines presume the acceptance of overtime as required and some restrictions in the choice of vacation periods. Travel is required to the extent necessary to maintain appropriate oversight over the financial performance of [Company] Extrude Hone.
