Supply Manager

Our client offers a variety of Mining Services from mine development through to production with a modern mechanised fleet of self-maintained underground mining equipment.
They are looking to recruit a Supply Manager to be based in Mali - FIFO out of Africa or Australia

Key Responsibilities include:
Effectively managing the supply, logistics, transport and inventory functions of the Company by:
  • Supporting growth plans
  • Driving cost savings by implementing appropriate purchasing processes and procedures
  • Implementing inventory control procedures
  • Implementing stock and parts cost reduction strategies
  • Sourcing products at optimum prices and quality from the most appropriate suppliers 
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes to ensure an efficient supply chain and sound corporate governance.
  • Developing an appropriate materials management system to ensure optimal inventory levels. 
  • Developing relationships with relevant stakeholders (internal as well as external)
  • Developing and reporting KPI’s for the Supply department in conjunction with stakeholders 
  • Assisting with continuous business improvement initiatives
To be successful in this position you will have:
  • At least 10 years experience in a similar role in the mining/contract services sector.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Logistics, Resource Management)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire, creating a cohesive and harmonious work environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, customs matters and terms of trade
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • A sound understanding of legal requirements, standards etc of procurement procedures 
  • Extensive experience in building and sustaining strategic relationships and networks.
  • A good understanding of indigenous people, their thought processes, and modus operandi. 
  • Proven track record of employee development
  • Intimate knowledge of PRONTO software 
Experience in an African nation would be an advantage

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicants
