Electrical Power Load Dispatcher

Job Description

• The Load Dispatcher continuously monitors the plant power system (including generation) and coordinates between the electrical maintenance group, the plant operating facilities, and the utility company. Areas of coordination include daily operations, restrictions and curtailments, and outages. The Dispatcher maintains the status of circuits and switching devices, plus access to controlled entry areas and operation of high voltage switches. Position requires rotating shifts and is manned 24/7/365.
• Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of work experience related to the position.

Work Environment:

• The job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the mill. Dependent upon the area you will work in, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
• As you also know, the position requires you to work rotating shifts, which will include Saturdays and Sundays. The position also requires you to work overtime as needed.
• Additionally, safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hard hat, goggles, hearing protection, and protective clothing and work boots with metatarsal protection. Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere.
