Development role to Senior Mining Engineer


Mineral sands operation preparing to commence mining operations on their streamlines in mid 2012. Located in the Mallee Region around 150km east of Adelaide, utilising their proposed mining method, they will be producing around 120,000 tonnes of mineral concentrate per year.

The site requires an experienced Mining Engineer. This role is targeted for development to Senior Mining Engineer or Technical Services Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for;
  • Preparing short and medium term mine plans, tailings disposal, operation and planning
  • Work with Geological section to ensure grade control and modelling are updated
  • Ensure statutory mining requirements are met
  • Deputise for the statutory Mine Manager in his absence
  • Fill in for the Mine Surveyor as required
  • Provide technical review and support for all mining activities and prepare reports

To be considered for this role you will have a degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent, a strong understanding of relevant mining software (Surpac, Mine Sched) and understanding of surveying equipment such as Trimble/Leica. 
  • It would also be highly desired that the successful candidate would obtain a Quarry Managers Certificate. 
  • Previous sands minerals experience will be highly regarded.
