Purchasing Specialist - Electrical Manufacturing Industry

About the Role

Working closely with the Management Team you will contribute to the accurate and timely costing of electrical switchboard projects and the purchasing of all electrical components. You will prepare and process quotes, prepare tender and technical documentation. You will also be responsible for working with the Purchasing Team to source materials locally and internationally to ensure competitive pricing.


Responsibilities

• Liaise with Project Managers to assist in determining the specifications of projects and determine costing
• Strategically source and procure materials as per project specifications
• Liaise with local and international suppliers to find quality materials
• Ensure the accurate and on time delivery of supplies
• Monitor purchasing strategies and provide suggestions for improvements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Communicate with project staff regularly to advise status of required materials

Skills and Experienced Required

• Electrical trade background with extensive hands on experience
• An interest in procurement and some purchasing experience within the electrical industry
• A strong knowledge of electrical components and parts is essential
• Exceptional communication skills
• High level of computer literacy
• Organised and the ability to manage necessary timelines
• Strong relationship building skills and highly personable
• Electrical design knowledge for commercial / industrial projects of all sizes would be a strong advantage
• An understanding of the design and construct process for Turn Key Projects would be highly regarded

You are from a trade or sales background seeking a new challenge within an innovative and progressive organisation focusing on electrical contracting, maintenance and industrial projects. You will have strong knowledge of materials and suppliers both local and international with previous procurement experience.
