Job Summary:

• Responsible for maintaining stationary production machinery in efficient and safe working order.

Job Responsibilities And Duties:
Repair And Maintenance: 

• Diagnoses problems and performs mechanical and minor electrical repair and maintenance to stationary production machinery such as aggregate plants, conveyors, crushers, elevators, drives, and screws. Uses some mobile equipment such as cranes to carry and lift heavy parts into place, uses a wide variety of hand and power tools, and uses cutting torch and welding equipment.

Other Duties:

• Inspects and reports condition of above machinery for items needing repair or service. Rebuilds or fabricates parts. Reads technical manuals and may order parts from central stores or outside suppliers. May drive pick-up or repair truck to pick-up parts. Shovels aggregate material from area to be repaired or for general housekeeping purposes. Performs other duties as directed.

Required Skills

• Sufficient to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams. Certified welder preferred.

Experience Required:  

• 3 years in machinery repair field.

Skills Required: 

Very good mechanical and welding skills. Ability to work at heights of up to 70-feet or more in various body positions. Ability to operate crane, forklift, and/or skiploader preferred.
