Technical Services Manager -Civil Engineer Concrete

Job Description

• Manages the regional technical services department, which includes a quality assurance laboratory and quality control technicians, to ensure company's products and service exceed customer expectations.
• Responsible for direct supervision of laboratory technicians to include, but not limited to; daily scheduling, performance management, training, coaching, and counseling, as needed
• Promotes teamwork among departments while upholding company guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Annually reviews personnel performance for quality and quantity according to established performance guidelines
• Participates in the selection, hiring, training, and discharge process of relevant personnel
• Works with outside agencies such as project engineers, architects, operations, and sales to ensure product meets quality expectations
• Represents company on numerous committees, organizations, and pre-pour meetings both internally and in the community
• Collects samples of component materials for conformance to specifications, as needed
• Maintains laboratory accreditation and equipment
• Continuously researches new technologies and advancements in the field and presents recommendations to Area Operations Manager
• Performs tasks of Technical Services Technician, as needed
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Complies with and ensures compliance of all Safety, Health, Environmental and other company policies, procedures, and requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education- Civil Engineering Degree preferred
• Experience- Three to five years laboratory testing experience in ready-mix concrete and construction aggregate properties preferred
• License- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record required

Certifications (ability to obtain)-

• Passed EIT Exam (preferred)
• P.E. (preferred)
• All certifications necessary to serve as FDOT Quality Control Manager
• Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician- Grade I
• Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician- Grade II
• Concrete Field Testing Technician- Grade I
