Operations Manager - Explosives

A large international Explosives Manufacturer is seeking Operations Managers to be based in Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Minimum Requirements

• The ideal candidate has a tertiary qualification as well as underground or surface mining experience and a strong commercial understanding.
• Previous sales experience would be a benefit, but is not essential, but experience managing a team is critical.
• For the position in Mozambique fluency in Portuguese is strongly preferred.

Job Specification

• This person will be responsible for managing their production and blasting operations on the various sites as well as a team of about 30 people consisting of operators, production supervisors, technical service engineers etc.
• Ensuring good health and safety on site will be a priority.
• Responsibility would also include building and maintaining good customer relationships and service, managing contractors and inventory and logistics.
• This person will be on site for 9 weeks and home for 4 weeks at a time.
