Manpower in Emerald is currently seeking several well qualified mechanical trade qualified technicians for a highly respected mine services company.


These role are what you would call a once in a lifetime opportunity and with rental prices dropping in Emerald there is no better time to secure a new life, job and home in Central Queensland.


This role will see you working on mobile plants machinery in a maintenance capacity. Initially you will be in a workshop environment close to town however our client is willing to train people with the right attitude into a site based maintenance role both above and below ground.


It is important to know that there are several critical aspects needed in order to be able to progress to an interview stage with the company.


YOU

You must have your own accommodation in or around the Emerald area as housing is not included.
You MUST have a trade qualification in a mechanical based trade with a focus on mobile plant maintenance. Such as Diesel Fitter, Fitter & Turner or Diesel Mechanic.
Manual drivers licence is essential.
A very strong desire to learn new skills and take on challenges.
Loyalty and reliability are two characteristics that our client is seeking.
You must have completed or be willing to complete your Coal Board Medical, S11 Generic induction and undertake a drug and alcohol test.
The right to work and live in Australia is essential.
Previous exposure to a mining environment is preferred however training and inductions can be arranged if successful

The Job

This role is being offered as a fulltime casual position through Manpower with the view of moving into a permanent role after a qualifying period.

Workshop based initially however once training and compliance is complete you will be required to attend several local mines throughout the Bowen Basin to conduct maintenance on mobile mining equipment. Generally this will be a Monday to Friday role but some weekend work will be required. A highly desirable hourly rate is negotiable, based on experience as well as site allowances.
