Senior Decommissioning / Demolition Consultant

• [Company] is currently seeking a Senior Decommissioning / Demolition Consultant for the Lansing, MI office.

This individual will be responsible for:

• Providing project management support to[Company] ’s Decommissioning Consultancy Practice and help to further develop our facility decommissioning and demolition practice in the Great Lakes region and throughout the U.S.
• Preparing and reviewing technical proposals and reports;
• Planning decommissioning / demolition projects at both the strategic and implementation levels;
• Developing decommissioning / demolition project specifications, scopes-of-work, and bid packages;
• Managing decommissioning and demolition consulting projects - being responsible for technical, schedule and financial performance; will include travel for kick-off meetings, site visits and other meetings;
• Establishing and maintaining effective client relations; and
• Taking a leadership role in new client business development activities.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or related technical field, or Construction Management; Master’s degree is preferred;
• 10+ years of experience with consulting on facility decommissioning and demolition projects at commercial or industrial facilities;
• Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects or environmentally related construction projects with responsibility for technical, schedule, and financial aspects of the project;
• Demonstrated experience working with and managing contractors and subcontractors;
• Proficient in project work scope development and specification writing;
• Familiarity with safety, industrial hygiene, and waste management aspects of decommissioning and demolition projects;
• Proven record in working in a consultancy role with clients to identify and achieve their project objectives;
• Effective communication, both verbal and written;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Willingness to travel as necessary for site visits and project management; and,
• Desire to join a team of established practitioners to grow our business.
