Position Description
- This opening is with[Company] , a division of [Company] and Propulsion -- a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium primarily for jet aircraft markets and a leading supplier of forgings for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, and other industrial markets.
- Our Health and Safety Engineer provides encouragement, promotes methods and procedures leading to increased safety protection and health among employees. Develops and maintains safety policies and programs to maintain safe and healthy working conditions. Responsible for promoting maximum protection against accidents and occupational health and safety hazards. Develops and maintains hygiene programs such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, and ventilation surveys. Collects, correlates, disseminates educational and informational data for the purpose of providing a safe working environment based on occupational safety and health standards.
- Will provide technical support to plant personnel concerning chemical usage and safety. Strives to reduce occupational injury/illnesses and administers occupational safety compliance.
- Position could be filled at a JG 14 - JG 16 level depending upon experience and qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety engineering, chemistry, biology or related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience minimum in the enforcement or interpretation of Health and Safety regulations.
- Three (3) years hands-on health/safety experience in manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate others, effective communication and personal initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASP or CSP certifications preferred.
- Safety experience in a Robot environment a plus.
- Ability to interpret OSHA 300 and 301A Logs preferred.
- Prior experience as Production Supervisor desired.
- Position could be filled at a JG 14 - JG 16 level depending upon experience and qualifications
