Mine Geologist

Our client, a mid tier iron ore producer in the Pilbara region with multiple mine sites. With sites ranging from small to mid sized, they have a family atmosphere, welcoming culture and well develop facilities.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and plan activities of the daily grade control processes. 
  • Manage day to day pit geology functions in conjunction with production and planning personnel. 
  • Minimise dilution through effective grade control, including practical mark up, blast movement considerations. 
  • Undertake geology project work as required to improve geological services and information to the mine. 
  • Assist in monitoring reconciliations of grade control data with mill throughput 
  • Assist in reconciling grade control data with block model predictions. 
  • Periodic reporting as required 


Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary level education in Geology or related discipline 
  • A minimum of 1-3 years experience 
  • The ability to work independently at remote sites 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
