IT&T - Business Development Manager - Mining and Resources


This global organisation provides world class data handling, storage and CRM solutions to the mining and resource industry. Currently the worlds leading supplier in their field, this organisation also offer a range of business solutions and employ nearly 40,000 employees around the globe. Additionally they are able to offer both an excellent salary package as well as extensive career opportunities locally, nationally and overseas.


Key responsibilities:
  • To put together an effective business development plan including mapping out and targeting a specific client base within the mining and resource sector 
  • New lead generation and following up referrals including establishing key decision makers and stakeholders within targeted organisations 
  • To put together proposals and tenders in line with the requirements of the clients and the service which is being offered 
  • To develop a strong understanding of products and services in order to tailor specific packages relevant to new clients needs 
  • To work effectively within a high pressured sales environment and to work in line with set KPIs and targets 


Key requirements:
  • Strong business development skills, new lead generation and a strong ability to hunt and seek out new business
  • A solid track record of hitting or exceeding targets within a fast paced, high pressured environment 
  • Experience in IT &T solutions sales which may include data management, back up and storage, CRM solutions or predictive intelligence 
  • A knowledge of the mining and resource sector is essential, the right candidate for this role will have experience selling into the industry in current or recent roles 
  • Bachelors degree in science, geosciences or a related field will be highly advantageous
