Ore Process Engineer - Systems

Major Client based in Musina needs a candidate with a sound Metallurgical processing background to oversee the Main Treatment plant process using Production Information Systems. He/she will analyse data to identify constraints and opportunities in the production process and ensure that the Central Control Room is managed

Minimum Requirements

• BTech or BSC in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineering Registration will be an advantage
• Valid EB/Code 08 Driver’s license
• 3 years relevant experience in a Processing environment
• Systems knowledge of Ampla (MES), SCADA, SADAS, SPLIT ON-LINE will be an advantage
• Database Management knowledge will be an advantage

Job Specification

• Thorough understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment principles and ability to implement effective controls to manage risks within the section.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical abilities
• Experience in applying and implementing best practice principles
• Ability to adhere to stringent deadlines
• Knowledge and understanding of integrated systems e.g. SAP, Ampla (MES), SCADA, SADAS, SPLIT ON-LINE
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work without supervision and be part of a team
• Extensive Microsoft Office knowledge
• Sound knowledge of mining and processing disciplines and machinery
• Good understanding of CBI principles and the ability to effectively implement them within the section
