Regional Exploration Manager

A World leading mining company seeks the incumbent who will be responsible for management of multiple projects and joint ventures, and must ensure compliance in accordance with the company’s practices and policies.

Minimum Requirements

Key Job description:

  • Generate exploration targets from geological compilations, area selection, and prospect evaluations.
  • Formulation and implementation of exploration plans.
  • Assess country risk, land tenure, security, quality of resource/reserve estimates and upside exploration potential.
  • Concise, accurate, comprehensive and timely reporting of activities, results and budget status.
  • Preparation of due diligence reports for potential acquisition of prospects.
  • Manage and maintain an exploration office and staff in the region.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Post Graduate in Geology / Applied Geology or equivalent.
  • Eight to ten years of post-qualifying experience in base metal / gemstones, out of which at least two years in a similar position – preferably with Multinational company.
  • Exposure to of Surpac / GIS software.
  • Portuguese/English speaking with excellent communications skills (both written and verbally).
  • Analytical and logical problem solving skills.
  • A good business understanding.
  • Good knowledge of MS office and Advanced excel skill.
  • Willingness to travel.

Remuneration and other benefits:

  • Up to US$100,000 depending upon previous experience
  • Tax rate in Mozambique is approximately 22%
  • Discretionary Bonus based on performance
  • 54 calendar days holiday
