Senior EHS Compliance Auditor
ERM is seeking a Senior EHS Compliance Auditor to join our growing Performance & Assurance practice team in Denver, CO. In this role, you will provide project/client management and senior technical assistance on EHS compliance audits, EHS management systems, and compliance assurance programs for multi-sector clients throughout the Western US, nationally, and possible international locations. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging EHS management projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform EHS compliance audits at oil & gas; utility; and manufacturing facilities. Implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with corporate, OSHA, MSHA, and all environmental regulatory standards.
- Develop, manage, and implement environmental and safety management systems and sustainability programs for clients.
- Manage and develop plans, permits, and policies for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater.
- Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects.
- Provide on-site senior-level compliance support at client facilities.
- Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow the Performance & Assurance practice in the Rocky Mountain region.
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
- Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of EHS compliance auditing experience, including one or more of the oil & gas; utility; or manufacturing industries.
- Certification in field desired (e.g., PE, CSP, CHMM, International Cyanide Code Auditor).
- Solid understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations applicable to industries listed.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
- Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the regional marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to CERCLA or RCRA actions within EPA Regions VIII and IX.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel (anticipated 40%), and work independently.
