This up and coming mining house is due to go into construction later this year. Boasting several exploration sites around Australia and managed by a highly experienced team of long serving technical experts in the Western Australian market, this organisation is already winning awards and is highly recognised by its industry peers. As this project is now fully funded, they are looking to find an experienced HSE Manager to oversee the management and deliverance of all onsite HSE requirements.

As a leader of safety your role will be to promote a zero harm safety culture on site through the construction phase and into production. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide strategic advice on all matters concerning HSE, including planning and management of all policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities:
  • Providing OHS advice and support to all personnel on site.
  • Ensure the emergency team and equipment is in a state of readiness at all times.
  • Establishing team call-out procedures.
  • Work with the neighbouring sites to promote the shared use of emergency response resources and training Identifying equipment and other resource needs for the emergency response capability.
  • Attendance and participation in Underground shift change, Toolbox/Safety Meetings and when appropriate the daily production planning of meetings.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong background in HSE in an Australian mining environment with a passion for safety and an ability to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act WA 1994 and Regulations 1995, AS/NZ and ISO Standards and WA Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Regulations. You will be experienced in writing policies and procedures and managing the emergency response team and have previously worked in underground mining. Minimum qualifications include a Diploma in OHS and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. Experience in working in a processing environment will be highly regarded.
