Geotechnical Engineer
Design & Build is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for a Mining Operator in New Zealand. This role reports to the Technical Services Manager and is a site based role. Living and working in New Zealand this is an excellent opportunity to source a residential position working a 5:2 roster and be home every night
Key responsibilities of the Geotechnical Engineer will include:
Interpret geological structures and rock mass
Supervision of surface operations and investigation
Undertaking continuous improvement of geotechnical practices and procedures and interact with other service line managers
Maintain the geotechnical database
To succeed in the of Geotechnical Engineer role you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and ideally postgraduate experience
A minimum of 5 years experience in geotechnical practices and previous experience in mining and resources
Experience in soft rock
Good report writing skills and communication
Software knowledge ie Vulcan or similar
Exposure to rock stability analysis and seismic hazards
