Senior Mine Engineer / Alternate Mine Manager

I am looking for a Senior Mine Engineer / Alternate Mine Manager for a thriving underground nickel operation situated in Western Australia.
This role would suit someone who is new to a Managers role but not quite getting the challenges and responsibility that was promised to them in their currently role and who has recently obtained their 1st Class Ticket.
 
If you are looking for a leadership style role where you can oversee mine designs and schedules as well as implementing short to long term planning then this would be the ideal role for you.
 
As Senior Mine Engineer / Alternate Mine Manager you will:
  • Report to the Underground Manager
  • Ensure the safe & efficient running of the Engineering department;
  • Oversee the timely production of mine designs and schedules;
  • Implement short to long term planning;
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Junior Engineers;
  • Actively promote and enforce the Company’s safety initiatives and policies;
  • Act as the Alternate Underground Manager for coverage as required
You will need to have:
  • Mining Engineering Degree
  • WA first class ticket – or near obtaining one
  • Exposure to underground environments
  • 4+ years mine engineering experience
  • Good drill & blast experience
  • People management and leadership skills
  • Effective problem solving skills 
  • Attention to detail – time management, record keeping etc
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
