Senior Manager: Commercial Procurement - Stay in Business Capital

Location:  JHB

A vacancy exists for Senior Commercial Manager Procurement – Stay in Business Capital.

The incumbent will be accountable to undertake the full procurement function to achieve the Region’s Stay in Business Capital Procurement targets. In addition the Procurement Specialist incumbent shall provide Procurement structure and process validation for Stay in Business Procurement undertaken by the mines.

Skills / Edu / Exp

• A 3-year degree or equivalent qualification in mining engineering.
• An additional postgraduate qualifications in a relevant degree would be an advantage.
• A minimum of at least 10 years’ experience in a procurement managerial environment.
• Experience in team achievement of project procurement.
• Exposure to contracting models.
• Managerial and operational experience of procurement projects from inception to conclusion and achievement of scope, programme and cost.

Duties

The role holder has the following accountabilities and authorities:

• Assess Stay in Business capital projects and management
• Business procurement.
• Undertake Stay In Business Capital Project Procurement in support of yearly budget programme.
• Conclude contractual agreements at the least commercial and legal risk.
• Introduce effective management of the supply base with particular focus on the local supply base.
• Effectively participate in and negotiate service levels and pricing to ensure the achievement of targets.
• Implement and manage service levels of parties providing supporting services to the Projects
• Continually be aware of and promote value adding technological and process improvements.
• Recruit, implement and provide technically input in the management of business unit resources.
• Train regional and business unit resources in capital procurement concepts and principles
