Due to internal promotion and career progression we now have a new senior role with one of Australia’s leading companies. Regarded as a strong leader in their chosen market with multiple operations across Australia, offering a variety of learning opportunities and sense of achievement in building up their new mining operation.
 
Reporting directly to the Technical Mine Services Manager you will be part of the senior leadership team responsible in implementing and introducing new strategies and procedures across site and operations.
 
Key responsibilities:
Prepare operating plans, budgets and capital expenditure proposals.
Ensuring workplace training is developed and delivered.
Engage in continual development and improvement of the Life of Mine plan and pit designs 
Undertaking continuous improvement of site operations.
Supervise, mentor and lead the planning team.
Focus on minimising the impacts of mining on the environment.
Ensure all pit designs comply with company design standards and geo-technical parameters.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience
:
Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 7 years in a senior role operating across an open-pit mine.
Demonstrated experience managing geological functions in an open -pit mining operation.
High level understanding of Life of Mine planning.
Mine design and planning experience with tools such as XPAC, Xact, Vulcan and Minescape.
High level understanding in mining methodologies, improvement processes and contract management.
