Principal Geologist

An opportunity is available to join a prestigious Perth based oil and gas consultancy in the role of Principal Geologist. 

The function of the role is to deliver sound technical and commercial advice to help clients with their decisions in the areas of asset acquisition, exploration/appraisal, development, management and divestment in the upstream oil and gas industry. 

Types of projects may include, but are not limited to;

• Valuing assets for merger, acquisition or divestment purposes
• Asset and portfolio optimisation
• Exploration/appraisal activities
• New field development planning and management

Responsibilities will include;

• Conduct broad technical studies in relation to exploration and development geology including seismic stratigraphy, structural analysis, stratigraphy and depositional environments.
• Assessment of exploration prospectivity for farmin/farmout
• Geological modelling
• Advise clients on exploration appraisal and development strategies to optimise the outcome of projects and programs

Suitable candidates will have;

• Tertiary qualification in Geology
• Minimum 15 years experience in Geoscience field
• Strong geomodelling capabilities
• Superior communication skills

A salary range of $260,000 - $320,000 is available for this role depending on skills and experience.
