Medium Term Planning Engineer - Coal - NSW - Up to $160k

Our client is one of the world's largest mining and metals companies, operating in numerous countries and employing thousands of people. They have over 30 operating coal mines throughout Australia and beyond with plans for further sites in the near future.
 
They are currently looking to recruit a number of Medium Term Planning Engineers for a site in both NSW.
 
As the Medium Term Planning Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Producing rolling monthly schedules, budgets and life of mine plans using Xpac software;
  • Developing optimised long and medium term mine plans and designs consistent with the business's budget objectives;
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory laws, company policies and procedures;
  • Ongoing monitoring of the mine plan to ensure conformance with and optimisation of the long term plans.
To be considered for the role of Medium Term Planning you will require the following:
  • Degree in Mining Engineering;
  • 3 years plus experience in the mining industry, including technical or operational roles;
  • Experience in large scale mining operations, with exposure to some or all of the following areas; mine planning, optimisation, design, scheduling, feasibility studies, due diligence and project management;
  • Sound analytical and numerical skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a broad spectrum of people;
  • A high level of computer literacy with a working knowledge of databases and scheduling processes.
