Communications Engineer

This role offers a long term contract opportunity with the potential to extend further onto future projects that are already earmarked for commencement. Our client is a rapidly expanding engineering consultancy firm who specialize in mining infrastructure projects.   

Work on new and complex problems for the ICIT team in areas including networks, operating systems, and communications technologies, and provide insight across the ICIT team.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Perform Lead Level Consulting tasks as appropriate
• Undertake lead communication engineering role on projects
• Develop design documentation including Scopes of Work, communications and infrastructure specifications and functional specifications
• Primary Liaison with electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, process engineering, control systems engineering and drafting personnel to assist with design of control systems and the interfaces to plant design
• Working as a team leader with a team of engineers or as a lead individual, to oversee and develop communications systems according to design documentation and appropriate standards
• Primary client representatives during project life cycle
• Develop Design, Installation and Operations standards for IP and SDH based Transmission systems

In order to be considered for this role, you will need the following:

• Relevant tertiary engineering qualifications from a recognised institution
• Significant engineering design and Consulting experience
• At least 8 years specific experience in ICIT services in a mining environment
• IP SDH based transmission systems experience essential
