Longwall Coordinator - Underground Coal - NSW

Our client based in regional NSW (Hunter Valley) is looking to engage the services of an experienced Longwall Coordinator. They have recently begun operations at a new site in NSW which is soon to begin long wall production.


Roles and responsibilities of the Longwall Coordinator will include:
  • The Longwall Coordinator is accountable for overseeing the safe and cost-efficient production schedule of the Longwall on a day-to-day basis, in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Longwall when in operation including service retractions and Longwall moves.
  • Coordinate the interaction between production and maintenance and enforce department-wide compliance with maintenance schedules to ensure that the Longwall achieves optimal utilisation and availability targets
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the workplace through leading by example, fostering OH&S awareness among staff, managing risk, and promoting continuous improvements in the area of safety while working towards the company goal of "zero harm".
To be considered for the role of Longwall Coordinator you will require:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related disciplines
  • Undermanager's Certificate of Competence
  • Extensive Longwall mining experience
  • Senior supervisory experience at an underground coal mine
  • Design & Build specialises in recruitment for the Mining, Construction & Engineering industries on a regional and national basis.
