OHS Coordinator

Our client, a leading civil contractor is looking for an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator to join their North Queensland team.  A family owned company with a lengthy history in Queensland, they offer stability and long term career growth and development.  As the OHS Coordinator for the North Queensland region you will be responsible for several sites, maintaining the company's safety requirements as well as promoting a positive safety culture.

Other duties include:

• Significant travel throughout the region (travel allowances included) 
• Developing safety plans, policies and procedures
• Site inductions, inspections, and onsite safety training
• Safety audits, risk assessments, and gap analysis
• Incident investigation and reporting
• Client and subcontractor liaison

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Qualifications in Occupation Health and Safety (Diploma minimum)
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment
• Significant civil experience in a safety coordinator role
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to lead, mentor and initiate changes
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to all safety issues
