Health & Safety Advisor / ERT Co-ordinator

About the Company:
My client is a leading and highly successful and reputable coal mining organisation working on exciting mining projects throughout Queensland. Due to the rapid growth of their organization they now have vacancy for a Health & Safety Advisor / ERT Coordinator.
 
They are looking for someone with strong auditing skills with the ability to assist in moving the business forward in a change management process in order to improve the safety culture of the business along with the necessary skills to coordinate the Emergency Response Team.
 
The Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Advisor / ERT Coordinator include:
  • Providing advice and information on health and safety issues
  • Coordination of the ERT function and SOP and JSA reviews
  • Investigating incidents, undertaking hazard and housekeeping audits
  • Providing advice on rehabilitation and injury management
  • Document control and the delivery of training for statutory competencies
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
 
The Requirements for this role include:
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a mining, construction or large scale industrial environment.
  • Experience as an ERT Member or experience co-ordinating ERT activities.
  • Knowledge of current rescue competencies.
  • Knowledge of the Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and the Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • RIIRIS301A (previously QMS1 or MNCG1001A), RIIOHS301A (previouslyQMS2 or MNCG1008A) and RIICOM301A (previously QMS3 or MNCG1009A) competencies would be highly regarded.
  • Queensland Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator's (RRTWC) Certificate would be highly regarded.
 
Residential role on a 5/2 roster with subsidised accommodation with a top salary with superannuation and relocation on offer.
 
Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia.
 
 There is an excellent remuneration package available to the successful candidate.
