Environmental Advisor

Join a leading manufactures and supplies chemicals, fertilisers and related services to the mining, minerals processing, industrial and agricultural sectors. 

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor, you will advise and support the businesses to achieve corporate environmental goals, with a particular focus on contaminated sites.

Your main responsibilities:

• Implement, co-ordinate and maintain environmental systems and programs;
• Manage contaminated sites investigations and remediation activities;
• Liaise with contaminated sites regulators, auditors and other relevant stakeholders;
• Monitor and communicate changes to relevant legislation, regulations and Codes of Practices;
• Measure and analyse environmental performance to the business and relevant stakeholders and identify issues for action;
• Develop and deliver environment and related training as required;

The requirements 

• Extensive experience in contaminated sites management
• Experience with undertaking contaminated sites risk assessment, site investigations (Preliminary site investigation & Detail site investigation) and remediation
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or a relevant degree
• Knowledge of environment legislative requirements and interpretation including the Environmental Protection Act, Contaminated Sites Act and DEC Contaminated Sites series
• Excellent computer skills
