Principal Responsibilities

  • Lab responsibilities
  • Learn all standard hydrometallurgical analyses and procedures
  • Maintain and repair lab equipment, and ensure that ISO requirements are met for each instrument.
  • Responsible for equipment performance and monitoring
  • Projects
  • Work with technical leader to define project scope and detailed action plan.
  • Develop methods for evaluation
  • Perform test work
  • Report data and maintain laboratory notebook
  • Present project results to technical group and/or mining group
  • Assist in writing invention record and/or provisional patent
  • On site project support
  • Design, configure, obtain hardware, construct and plumb demonstration equipment for project testing
  • Report and log results
  • Comprehensive SOP program
  • Will be working with Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and writing/editing SOPs as needed or developed

Qualifications

  • BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
  • B.S. degree in chemistry/metallurgy or other related discipline
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills -
  • Requires integrated work with project development team
  • Must work closely with the entire lab group
  • Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
  • Proficient computer skills - specifically Microsoft Office, Excel and Lotus Notes databases.

Desired:

  • Experience in developing methods for product testing and experimental design
  • 3 years of hydrometallurgical industry/product knowledge
  • Knowledge of standard lab safety, ISO procedures, and SHE procedures
  • Proficient computer skills - specifically SAP
  • Proven experience in project development
