We are currently seeking a committed and dedicated leader to take on the role of Area Operations Manager within WA to ensure the safe and efficient operation of some key sites within our WA Operations. 
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager for Western Australia & South Australia, you will be responsible for planning, leading and controlling all plant and depot operational activities within the WA Region in order to achieve targeted outcomes in the areas of people, equipment, material and environmental safety, cost performance, asset utilisation and customer product and service delivery.


You will also be responsible for:
  • Ensuring that contracted and agreed customer services are delivered safely, cost effectively and according to committed service levels and standards
  • Ensuring that all personnel are trained, competent and capable to perform required tasks. This includes maintaining 100% compliance with the Operator Training System (OTS) and Managing Human Performance (MHP) processes
  • Setting SMART goals for sites, teams and individuals so that individual and Company performance continuously improves
  • Developing/compiling cost centre budgets and forecasts and manage operations to achieve those targets
  • Ensuring that asset utilisation and availability are optimised to achieve required operational outcomes within the region
  • Identifing, recommending and delivering on improvement opportunities
  • Coordinating the trials of new products and services at customer sites
  • Ensuring that all changes (including people and engineering related changes) are managed according to identified Company processes and policies
  • In conjunction with the Human Resources Team, managing all industrial relations issues to achieve agreed outcomes

To be successful in this position you will ideally possess:

  • Extensive management experience (at a large operational site) within a relevant industry
  • Advanced people management skills including leadership, performance management and coaching.
  • An in depth knowledge of Safety and Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISRS, MSA, ISO9000) and their application
  • Sound understanding of the regulatory environment
  • An understanding of Lean methodologies and their application
  • Tertiary Qualifications, preferably in Engineering or Commerce
  • State specific mine license requirements
  • Dangerous Goods Security Clearance (DGSC)
  • Strong focus on Health, Safety and the Environment
  • Strong Change Management compliance

This position forms a key part of the WA Operations leadership team and will require a committed individual prepared to take on the challenges of working in remote locations with a geographically dispersed workforce. You will be required to demonstrate unambiguous commitment to our company values and behaviours and take a proactive approach, ensuring "On Time In Full" delivery of products and services to our customer.
The culture of safety is paramount and you will play an integral part in promoting OH&S procedures to ensure Zero Harm at all times.
