Senior Mine Geologist - Coal
Design & Build is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist for a leading International Mining Operator. The company is one of the largest exporters of thermal coal and one of the largest producers of coal to make steel. They have over 25 mines in Australia and operate both U/G and open cut operations
 
This is a residential operation and the successful candidate will live and work in a regional Queensland location. FIFO is not offered for this position. Housing will be subsidised and there are excellent networks to schools, healthcare and airports
 
Key responsibilities of the Senior Mine Geologist will include:

• Manage daily pit geology and planning of the production
• Planning of the pit and coal quality 
• Managing and co-ordinating a team on site and supervising geologists and techs
• Managing and co-ordinating the team responsible for testing and sampling
• Establishing strong rapport with colleagues in the team as well as other teams within the operation
• Monthly reporting and control

To succeed in the of Senior Mine Geologist role you will need:

• Degree in Geology
• Good managerial and mentoring skills
• Excellent written and communication skills
• The ability to write and deliver reports
• A proven track record in safety and environment
• Experience in underground mining
• Knowledge and understanding of the Australian market
