Technical Services Manager
Design & Build is recruiting seeking a Technical Services Manager for one of Australia's leading Mining Operators. This organization is currently involved in one of the largest open-cut Iron Ore Projects in the world. Working for a Global operation you will be leading, mentoring and supporting a skilled team of Mine Planning Engineers.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a Mine Site with over 20 years life remaining. This is either a FIFO based role working on a 9:5 arrangement (travel on company time) or a residential option is also a possibility for candidates wishing to live close to the site  
 
Key responsibilities of the Technical Services Manager will include:
  • Managing a team of experienced mining engineers, supporting both technically and practically on site activates
  • Scheduling of production activities in line with short and long term plans
  • Undertaking continuous improvement of site operations
  • Establishing strong rapport with colleagues across Technical Services as well as other teams within the mine operation
  • Budget and cost analysis relative to planning strategies
To succeed in the Technical Services Manager role you will need:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in mining and previous experience in mine planning
  • A proven track record in the delivery of projects on schedule, time and budget
  • Sound knowledge of the software such as Vulcan, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Access
  • Good computer literacy and some SAP experience highly advantageous
  • Extensive experience in a surface mining, ideally iron ore or coal
