Trainee Planner

We are seeking a Junior Planner to work closely and learn from the Lead Planner across a large port expansion project. This is a great opportunity to join a Global EPCM and be involved with this trademark and challenging project.  Your position will be responsible for scheduling, project progress and performance reporting, cost planning and resource leveling, senior level capabilities in scheduling and management.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Responsible for costing, planning and scheduling functions for projects.
  • Provides overall progress reports and other matters related to schedule and cost as required by the Project Controls Manager and Project Manager.
  • Co-ordinates the managers, engineers, superintendents and supervisors on scheduling and status of each project.
  • Compiles daily, weekly and monthly reports for all main areas on information received from managers, engineers, superintendents and supervisors including subcontractors.
  • Prepares reports on progress, manpower and costs and co-ordinates the work scheduling and procurement.
 Experience working for an EPCM or Contractor will be highly regarded as is experience in using the various Project Management software tools, especially Primavera P6.

Required Competencies and Skills:



  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or minimum 1 year relevant industry planning/scheduling experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to produce and revise resource loaded schedules.
  • Experience and ability to use nominated planning and spreadsheet software (Primavera P6).
