Lead Mechanical Designer

Our client who is a leader in the Mining industry is currently looking to hire on a permanent OR contract basis a LEAD MECHANICAL DESIGNER
 
Working closely with and reporting to the Principal Designer the ideal applicant WILL have the below qualifications:
  • a minimum of ten years' experience in an EPCM environment
  • an approved certificate or diploma qualification in layout design
  • the ability to produce GA and detailed design drawings in MicroStation (V8)
  • the ability to model in MicroStation Triforma
  • a sound understanding of industry standard fabrication and construction techniques
 
To perform this role successfully, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Producing clients and industry standard design drawings from the design engineers' calculations and sketches.
  • Producing layout and detailing of materials handling and mine plant design proficiently
  • Reviewing of vendor drawings and design data
  • Ensuring project schedules and man-hour budgets are met for areas of assigned work
  • Reviewing the project budget and schedule for drawings
  • Maintaining progress details for drawings produced by personnel under your supervision
