Construction Safety Representative
Our Construction Safety Managers:
- Conduct comprehensive HS&E reviews of potential risks of the CH2M HILL CM team on the project, assist in the investigation of complaints concerning HS&E risks to our staff, review potential mitigation measures, and conduct reviews to our program and NYC Dept of Environmental Protection (DEP) policies and procedures.
- Maintain expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by Federal/State/Local agencies including knowledge of NYC DEP HS&E policies and procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to CH2M HILL CM staff as well as observe that contractors are monitoring the implementation of their HASPs, sampling, waste handling and hazardous materials remediation plans.
- Conduct HS&E training for CH2M HILL CM staff, provide HS&E leadership and establish a safety culture within the project team.
- Develop reports to NYC DEP and implement HS&E communication plans to promote HS&E and increase employees' awareness of HS&E issues and incident prevention methods for CH2M HILL CM team.
- Have experience with monitoring for airborne contaminants and dust control procedures as well as asbestos and lead.
- Display strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and oversight of a team of sub-consultants.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- 5 years of experience in implementing and managing HS&E programs on heavy civil construction projects.
- Ability to develop and deliver HS&E training.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- 10 years of experience in implementing and managing HS&E programs on heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong familiarity with NYC DEP HS&E policies and procedures.
- CSP or CIH certification desired.
