Senior Civil Engineer

  • Residential Role – Astana, Kazakhstan 
  • Greenfields iron ore project 
Our Client is assisting in the development of a Greenfields iron ore project in Kazakhstan. They are currently seeking a Kazakh Senior Civil Engineer. In this role, the successful applicant will
  • Lead front end engineering design (FEED) for infrastructure, utilities connections, roads, rail, gas, power, water, sewage.
  • Develop method statements for feasibility studies through to detailed and approved construction designs.
  • Adhere to the project budget and schedule.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
  • Account for engineering tasks to ensure they meet contract requirements.
  • Develop project-specific procedures for the work to be carried out.
  • Interpret clients' requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure that solutions are implemented.
  • Ensure all justifications for contractual variations during projects are maintained to support subsequent commercial claims.
  • Evaluate, organize and prioritize work within the overall project schedule.
  • Liaise with and manage third party contractors.
  • Draft contract administration correspondence.
The person we are looking for must have:
  • A degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering 
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the metals and mining sector 
  • A high degree of self motivation and initiative
  •  Preferred but not essential attributes include
  • Experience in beneficiation plant construction, particularly the design and construction of the infrastructure for all equipment and related facilities (in particular, the heavy rotating and vibrating machines)
  • AutoCAD experience
