Broken Hill is a mining city in outback NSW with some of the worlds largest mining deposits situated here creating a thriving community supporting its growth.  Broken Hill has been call the The Silver City, The Oasis of the West and The Capital of the Outback by many and whilst surrounded by beautiful Australian red dirt the town still manages colourful parks and garden displays, with a number of attractions to inspire both the young and young at heart.


Your Responsibilities will be:
Analyse microseismic, and sand filling data over time, to identify shortcomings in processes and systems
Judgment to correct the shortcomings using the most appropriate methods and technologies
Effectively implement and adapt geotechnical plans to meet the operational needs of the mining operation
Ground support designs and advice on the stability of mine designs
Judgment to select the most appropriate means to reduce seismic risk
Monitoring of the operation and effectiveness of seismic monitoring system
The ability to Analyse data over time, to ensure ground support quality meets the prescribed standards
Supervision of ground support quality control and testing programs.
 
To be successful in this role you will need:
Tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering or relevant degree
Demonstrated the ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team
Proficient and experienced in Geotechnical software and Vulcan
2 plus years of experience in underground geotechnical or rock engineering
