Mechanical Engineer - Manager

As the Manager of Mechanical Engineering you will be responsible for ensuring mechanical engineering and maintenance standards across all process areas at this major underground coal operation. The position is large in scale and at all times requires compliance with company engineering standards as well as Mechanical State Compliance adhering to Coal Mines Health and Safety.
 
In this position you will be the figurehead for mechanical engineering matters on site responsible for managing the function to surpass service performance measures with a large team of people and represent your area at operations meetings.  You will drive service improvement practices and change where necessary to improve standard in service, safety and budget management.  In additional you will be able to draw on previous best practice to drive continuous improvements.
 
The successful applicant will be fully conversant with underground coal mining or similar heavy engineering systems improvement. It is important that all applicants possess a tertiary qualification in  Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate of Competency to perform the duties of a Manager of Mechanical Engineering. A track record in managing a mechanical engineering function, driving change to get outstanding results whilst upholding a safe and productive operation that exceeds service levels.
